Structure Is the New Self-Care

Read time: 2 minutes

As I get ready to head to Hollyhock this week to lead the annual Groundwork Masterclass Retreat—this year titled Peace In Action—I’m thinking about all the people who’ve shown up to retreat overwhelmed by life, carrying a quiet hopelessness that maybe things can’t be different.

And then, by the final session, they’re saying something else entirely.

People tell me Groundwork has fundamentally changed the way they work and live. And when I hear from them again—one, two, even three years later—the impact holds steady: more peace of mind, more clarity, more creativity, more focus. No more despair.

This week, I’m sharing a podcast conversation I had with Kristina and Raquelle from Bombshell Brunches (which is also airing on cable TV here in Canada!). When they sent over the final cut, I was delighted by the title they chose:

Structure Is the New Self-Care.
Genius.

Because it’s true. Without the structure Groundwork brings to my day-to-day life, I’d be thrashing. My ADHD would run the show. I’d be unreliable, lost, depressed, and unfulfilled. Without the Survival Pattern Framework and the Groundwork System, I’d still be sitting on potential I couldn’t fully access—pulled under by the pace and intensity of modern life.

This episode is full of laughs, stories, and insights—and I highly recommend giving it a listen.

And if you use Groundwork in your daily life?
You basically have superpowers.

You’ve got a simple structure to escape survival mode—on the inside and out. You’ve got built-in self-care. Keep going.

And if you ever need a refresher or a little extra support, just hit reply. I’d love to hear from you.

That’s all for now—see you in two weeks!

The Groundwork System is a simple way to manage your inbox, to-do list, and calendar, and a simple way to understand and manage the triggers and pain that keep you in survival mode.
